Tesla Cybertruck Release
The Tesla Cybertruck release was originally planned in late 2021. Since it was unveiled way back in late 2019, over 1.5 million people have preordered the truck. Both consumers and EV enthusiasts have been highly anticipating Tesla’s release of a pickup truck style EV. Now, Tesla’s first new vehicle in three years is finally very close to production.
Just last month, Tesla’s Giga Press supplier IDRA, announced they have completed building and testing of the Cybertruck’s new9000-t Giga Press. After being shipped to US, the equipment has already arrived at Tesla’s factory ready for production of the Cybertruck’s body. The armoured vehicle is due to start mass production at the end of 2023. Two years later than the original planned date for production for the Cybertruck. The Tesla Cybertruck is already available to reserve now, at a price of $100, which Tesla has made fully refundable.
Just recently, a photo was leaked, which looks appears to be the frame of the cybertruck frame being assembled using Giga Press that was just recently delivered to Tesla headquarters from Italy-based Giga Press manufacturer, IDRA.
The truck is set to be built in Tesla’s global headquarters and U.S manufacturing hub. Once production is underway, it will eventually be available in four different motor versions. The single motor, dual motor, tri motor and finally, quad motor. Elon Musk just recently announced that initial production will be of the 4 motor variant, with independent, ultra fast response torque control of each wheel.
It is estimated at a starting price point of $39,900, which was the original set price. However the dual motor version of the vehicle is expected to start at $50,000, while the tri motor version should cost roughly $70,000.

Exterior
At first glance, the Cybertruck looks like something out of a futuristic sci-fi movie set. The exterior of the vehicle was made for durability and passenger protection, with an ‘outer shell’ made from ultra-hard 30x Cold-Rolled strain-less steel and Tesla’s armour glass. Aiming to also help eliminate dents and long term corrosion. Additionally, it was also announced that the Cybertruck will be somewhat waterproof and be able to drive across rivers and lakes that aren’t too extreme.
Musk tweeted that the quad motor version of the truck will be able to drive diagonally “like a crab.” It will have front and rear wheel steering making it able to perform tank turns. However it isn’t only Tesla planning this interesting diagonal driving feature. Another brand GMC Hummer EV, also has a driving mode called Crab Walk.

Interior
The interior of the truck features a super minimalistic look, with a plain dashboard featuring one main touch screen. Tesla hasn’t disclosed the features of the interior, however with the square style steering wheel, it looks like the trucks interior going to have some pretty interesting features.
Up to 6 passengers can fit inside and and its 6.4f t cargo bed offers 100 cubic feet of volume. The roof view from the inside is going to be something, since there’s a large, panoramic sunroof.
Towing Capacity
Although at first glance you might just see a really cool looking large electric vehicle. Let’s not forget the truck is an SUV pickup with an extremely impressive towing capacity. With the ability to pull a towing capability of over 14,000 pounds, Cybertruck can perform in almost any extreme situation with ease.
For it’s pick up truck ability it will be interesting to see how it compares to leader of the market currently. The Ford F150 pickup has the same towing capacity of 14,000 lbs and has been America’s top selling vehicle for over 30 years, and top selling pickup truck for 40 years.
Charging
The truck will have 1 MW ultra-fast charging tech, so it will be able to charge at ultra fast V4 Tesla charging stations. At the Tesla Semi event, it was said both the newly delivered Tesla Semi and the Cybertruck are going to use improved liquid-cooled fast chargers. The V4 supercharger holds the substantially larger power demand from both the semi and the truck.
Charging the truck at home won’t be as difficult as you might anticipate. Taking into consideration the large battery capacity of the Cybertruck. An overnight charge at home with smart, charging will do the job. If the vehicle is plugged in before you sleep it will be ready for day ahead with a full charge.
