Electric Cars Coming in 2023
Electric cars in 2023 are going to be at the highest number of launches reached so far. The electric era is already here. From well established automakers to new and upcoming brands. In near future EV releases there’s a rollout of both new, and all electric and plug-in hybrid models. That are all worth watching out for. An estimated 150 new cars with a plug are coming to the US between now and the end of 2026. Some have been set back in production and continue their launch into the next year, some new and highly anticipated. Which of these future EV’s will we see launched in 2023?
Here we’ve included a list of fully battery electric vehicle (BEV) models that are scheduled for 2023. Although there are plenty of (PHEVs) plug-in hybrid electric vehicles that are going to be available throughout 2023 and beyond also.
What’s Coming: Electric Cars in 2023
Which of the electric cars in 2023 are actually coming to the market? Recently, electric vehicles in general, have started to emerge heavily as practical communiting vehicles. It’s not only electric cars for public use, but companies that are taking the leap to go all electric, to meet zero emission climate goals. Infact, the global electric commercial vehicle market size is projected to grow from 353 thousand units in 2022 to 3,144 thousand units by 2030.
All countries around the world are trying to move both consumers and companies away from fumes to a greener choice. 2022 was a strong year in EV sales. However, the end of 2022 and the whole of 2023 is looking even more exciting in regards to overall EV adoption, especially with such innovative EV’s coming to the market.
Electric cars available in 2023:
Cadillac Lyriq
The Cadillac Lyriq should reach the market in autumn at a base price of an attractive $59,990/€61,600. It’s a luxury SUV, available in both AWD and RWD. The SUV features a wide interior and aims at a very smooth drive.
The Lyriq is Cadillac’s first all electric design. It technically reached markets in 2022, however it’s fully appearing in 2023. All 2023 year orders are already full, but you can place an order for 2024 production model.
Audi A6 E-Tron
The new Audi A6 E-tron is an all new Audi model design concept. The production ready A6 Avant E-Tron, electric models using the new premium platform electric are set to go on sale in 2023. There is no revealed pricing yet. The Concept version of the Audi A6 e-tron has a 100kWh battery, and 435 miles of range. So it’s estimated the real production car will be similar to these figures.
The standard range will have DC fast-charging capability that Audi says will enable the car to charge its battery from 5- 80% capacity in only 25 minutes.
BMW i7
The BMW i7 is going to be a hot arrival of 2023, both as a saloon and an Avant estate. The EV is going to be an all electric version of the next generation 7-series sedan. Pricing is expected at around $119,300/ €122,700.
Available from the end of 2022, we will really see the BMW i7 throughout 2023. It’s pretty much tailor made for an extremely comfortable passenger experience, featuring an almost cinema like screen for passengers in the back. The i7 xDrive60 will be the only version released. Hyundai IONIQ 6
The Hyundai IONIQ 6 will drive the streets in Europe later this year, estimated in Q3. However, it won’t make North American markets until 2023. The IONIQ 6 is the following model after Hyundai’s IONIQ 5, which made World Car Design of the year, 2022.
Expected pricing of the IONIQ 6 is just a bit higher than the IONIQ 5, at around $40,000/€41,000. The exciting EV will arrive in both rear or all-wheel drive versions with an acceleration of 0-100 km in 5.1 seconds. The electric car features a sloping roof for dynamic sportiness of this four door electric sedan. Like you may have seen with a few other EV’s on the market, the IONIQ 6 was manufactured with environmentally friendly materials such as recycled yarn from plastic bottles, and uses recycled ocean waste.
Tesla Cybertruck
The Tesla Cybertruck could be one of the biggest launches of this year due to intrigue. It’s been 3 years since it was introduced. But Elon Musk recently announced it’s coming in late 2023. Pricing of the truck is expected from $39,900/€41,100.
Designed to have the utility of a truck with sports car style performance. Tesla says the “Cybertruck is built with an exterior shell made for ultimate durability and passenger protection.” It features armoured glass and stainless steel exterior to prevent long-term corrosion. 2.9 Seconds acceleration and up to 500 miles of range make this futuristic, electric vehicle pretty efficient too.
Fisker Ocean
The Fisker Ocean is soon releasing the first of his all electric models, the Fisker Ocean Sport and Ultra Trim. Fisker, who previously worked with the Tesla model S, said the price of the single-motor Sport trim will start from $37,499/ €38,500.
The Fisker Ocean Sport has some unique features, one of which is 17.1 inch center touchscreen that rotates. There’s also a mode that opens the roof panel, side windows and rear glass to give the cabin an open feel of a convertible.
